  • Essential Job Function: 

    • Responsible for the daily operation of Hill Country Fellowship Christian Academy, a warm and friendly Christian-based, child-centered program. Ensures that State Licensing Requirements of Texas Department of Family & Protective Services are met or exceeded. Leads and supports the staff through teamwork and mutual respect to achieve individual and classroom goals. 

    Direct Report: 

    • Hill Country Fellowship Executive Pastor

    Work Year: 

    • 12-month position [excluding holidays, vacation, personal days]

    Education Requirement:

    • Must be certified or able to certify as a director of a child care center per the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services. Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Early Childhood or Child Development preferred.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years experience in Preschool or licensed Child Care Center.
    • Work experience as a director or assistant director in a licensed child-care program preferred. 


    • Thorough understanding of TDFPS licensing standards and child care center operations. 
    • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to implement policy and procedure.
    • Proficient in utilizing social media platforms to promote the center and communicate with parents.
    • Ability to lead and supervise staff members.
    • Ability to manage a budget.

    General Requirements: 

    • Must have a strong interest in and a developmentally appropriate understanding of young children with a philosophy that is compatible with the goals of the preschool. Must have a working knowledge of Christian-based developmentally appropriate practices. HCFCA strives to meet Burnet CISD Kindergarten standards and expectations.
    • Must have a strong Christian faith and desire to create synergies between the church congregation and the preschool. 


    • Management and Planning – Provide leadership to ensure proper management and utilization of allocated human and fiscal resources. Commitment to Christian principals for daily operations. Possess a vision for the future of a growing school to meet the needs of a growing community.
    • Staff Leadership – Create an atmosphere of cooperation, teamwork, and mutual respect within staff. Ensure that staff meets all licensing requirements. Staff will be routinely monitored and evaluated. Training must ensure that instructional and relational improvement is a constant priority for all staff.
    • Communication – Clear, concise, and frequent communication is expected in all situations. Coordination with the Children’s and Family Life Pastor must be frequent to maintain alignment with the Church’s Mission. Parents are viewed as partners in all aspects of the Academy. All forms of electronic communication must be employed.
    • Commitment to Professionalism – HCFCA is known for its commitment to a high quality yet loving environment. This begins with a dedication to the teachings of Jesus. Professional growth and development are an ongoing expectation of the Director and all staff.
